Today, I would like to introduce to you one of my most favorite czech painters – Antonín Slavíček.

I will quote a text from a brochure: “… Antonín Slavíček left a decisive mark on the development of  Czech art at the turn of the 19th to 20th century. The classical tradition of landscape painting reached a climax in his work and at the same time Slavíček’s work was a harbinger of future development of Czech painting in it’s knowledge and ejoyment of nature. …”

I think that his work can be compared to the work of great world masters and I will always recognize his excited brushstrokes. Check out few samples of his lively paintings and see his mastery for yourself.
