Three small oil paintings done in plein air during last month.
Edmund Gosse said about John Singer Sargent: “His object was to aquire the habit of reproducing precisely whatever met his vision without the slightest “arrangment” of detail, the painter’s business being not to pick and choose, but to render the effect before him, whatever it may be.“
I should adopt this goal too. Or at least I should not be too picky about my subjects.
