An Ancient Oak (Brdy)

Oil on canvas

I painted this piece right next to the ruined castle Valdek. That could have been more obvious choice but I came for the tree.
It had to at least couple of hundred years old. I wanted to capture that old time worn beauty.
My fingers were so stiff from the cold by the time I was finishing the last stroke that I couldn’t remove brushes from my other hand.
No frostbite in the end and I came home with a successful painting.
