This painting is a small tribute to Antonin Slaviček. Like him, I wanted to paint a forest in which you won’t find even an inch of narrative – in which you simply get lost.

Autumn leaves were asking to get painted by dotted “impressionistic” method. There are many layers of small brush strokes in the painting. I always had to wait some time for each layer to dry, so the work on the painting dragged on for about two months.
