Early Spring (Oak)

Oil on canvas

Very early in the spring, when warm sun shines, the grass and the first herbs begin to take on a more vivid color and try to find their way through withered remnants of the last year.
I painted this over an older picture. I don’t throw away unsuccsesful paintings, but wash them with a neutral color and use them again. I like the texture of unrelated brushstrokes that these canvases have.
