Painter, artist, wanderer
Born 1989
Living in Prague, Czech Republic

Tomas graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague but also studied Chinese painting and calligraphy in Taiwan and illustration in the United States.
He used to work (and very successfully) as a concept designer in the videogame and movie industry but decided to quit after a serious accident. Strong desire to stay independent and to work on his own projects have been his driving forces ever since.
Tomas is deeply fascinated by landscape and stories it can tell. His quest to paint the perfectly authentic picture often takes him to extreme places like caves, high mountains or all sorts of wilds. He doesn’t shy away from conditions that would put most people off. In fact, he looks for them.
“Painting outside is the most real thing I know. It takes determination. It’s rough and hardcore. But it’s also addictive and ultimately rewarding. When you experience what it feels like to paint in a snowstorm, you can hardly go back to the studio.”
His paintings are executed with confident and expressive brushstrokes. They are apparent when viewed up close but disappear and create a convincing illusion of reality when you step further. Sensitive colors, perfectly captured light and atmosphere and feelings of silence and mystery are all trademarks of his work.
