The name of the island – Fuerteventura – is often translated as “strong winds”. And it was exactly the wind that became the factor which influenced how and what I painted. It was fierce. I often had to sit hiddene behind obstacles. That’s not typical for me. I prefer to stand while painting. But my travel gear wasn’t built for this, so I had to adapt.
