These three pictures of roses in the dark were created for the exhibtion Vanitas at DOX. For a while I thought have had enough of nocturnal paintings. At least untiil I got a visit in the studio with an offer to participate in this big event. The theme was still life with flowers (symbolising fading away) so the challenge was obvious. I had to change my subject but keep my style. In the end, it worked surprisingly well and these three paintings, especially when hung together, created a mesmerizing triptych.
