I painted this pond many times and still haven’t got tired of it. Sometimes I feel like it’s the most beautiful place in the world. I’ve had very intimate connection to it since childhood.

I tried to capture the fast fading light of a warm summer evening. I chose quite a big canvas for such a transient subject. I couldn’t afford to make mistakes as that would have meant loosing precious time. Luckily I didn’t make many and the painting turned out the way I wanted it.
