I painted this during one of those wet, rainy days that characterize winter in northern Taiwan. By the time I finished, I found that two leeches had attached themselves to my legs. It was too late to remove them (and I didn’t have salt at hand, which any local would tell you to use), so I humbly allowed them finish their job and leave on their own.
