Entrance to a Cave

Oil on canvas
50x40cm
2021

This one was technically not deep in the cave, it’s rather in a narrow ravine that is leading into the small cave entrance.
That dark entrance is the focal point of this composition.

I was so cramped in between two walls of the cave that I couldn’t step back from the painting nor I could move any other way. Claustrophobic feeling for some, opportunity to transfer something extraordinary onto a canvas for me. This is something you would never be able to do if you were working from a photograph.
